One of the greats, gone way too soon. He played his guitar unapologetically loud.  Never had anyone handled a guitar like Jimi. He was a pioneer and a trailblazer.   I studied many different images of Jimi before I decided on this one for my painting. I wanted to express the life in his eyes, and showcase the essence of who he was--an American, guitar-player, immersed at that moment with his trademark marijuana joint.
