I have admired Quincy Jones and his musical odyssey for many years. I became inspired to paint him after I read about his trip to Africa. While in Africa, Quincy discovered his ancestral musical roots. During that trip, he purchased that statue of "The Dude." He created a hit album with the same name as the statue. That part of his history felt so divine, I wanted to capture it on canvas.
